Duda Freire's Influencer Father Sentenced to Over Five Years in Prison for Drug Trafficking

Dyogo Hilario Tocafundo, the father of influencer Duda Freire, has been sentenced to five years and ten months in prison for drug trafficking.

Dyogo Hilario Tocafundo, the father of Brazilian influencer Duda Freire, has received a sentence of five years and ten months in prison for drug trafficking, as confirmed by the Goiás Court of Justice (TJGO). The sentence mandates that he serve time in a closed regime due to his previous convictions related to similar offenses. Alongside his prison term, he has also been ordered to pay 583 days' worth of fines, calculated at a rate of 1/30 of the minimum wage in effect at the time of his crimes.

His arrest took place in the Marista Sector of Goiânia on February 26, with a subsequent hearing on February 28 confirming the decision to keep him in custody. At present, Dyogo is incarcerated at the Provisional Prison House (CPP) in Aparecida de Goiânia, within the Metropolitan Region. Efforts to reach Dyogo's legal representatives resulted in a statement indicating that they will not provide comments on the matter for now, which adds an element of uncertainty to the case.

The court documents reveal that Dyogo, having been previously incarcerated for drug trafficking, continued to engage in criminal activities, prompting renewed investigations into his operations. This case highlights ongoing concerns regarding drug trafficking in Brazil, especially as it involves a public figure and raises questions about the influence of personal backgrounds in these cases of crime.
