A significant historical discovery has been made at the Vuelta de Obligado historical park in Argentina, where a wooden chess knight was found. This piece, about 3.8 centimeters tall and 1.6 centimeters wide, is believed to have been used by the troops of General Lucio Mansilla just before the Battle of Vuelta de Obligado, which took place on November 20, 1845. The discovery was made by construction workers who were involved in building restrooms at the site.
