Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has recently suggested a plan to send experts specializing in the interception of Iranian-made drones to the Middle East. This offer comes with a condition: the leaders of Middle Eastern nations must persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to agree to a ceasefire lasting at least one month. Zelenskyy emphasized the unique expertise Ukraine has developed in neutralizing the Shahed drones, which have been extensively used in the ongoing conflict.

During a phone conversation with Bloomberg News, Zelenskyy articulated the strategic importance of this proposal, stating that it would facilitate collaboration between Ukraine and Middle Eastern countries to protect civilians from drone attacks. He stressed that the leaders in the region have established relations with Russia and could leverage these connections to negotiate a temporary halt to hostilities. The Ukrainian president indicated flexibility regarding the ceasefire's duration, proposing it could last for two weeks or even two months, depending on negotiations.
