Banco Pichincha's Sumar Juntos program has successfully provided access to drinking water for over 31,000 people in rural communities across eight provinces in Ecuador.

The Sumar Juntos program, driven by Banco Pichincha, has reported significant progress in providing access to drinking water for more than 31,000 individuals living in rural communities throughout eight provinces in Ecuador by 2026. This initiative has been particularly impactful in areas like Carchi, Azuay, Cotopaxi, Morona Santiago, Chimborazo, Sucumbíos, Tungurahua, and Manabí, where families have previously depended on contaminated water sources. The introduction of potable water systems marks a notable improvement in their quality of life.

With the collaboration of implementing organizations, the Sumar Juntos program has successfully enhanced the living conditions of 56 rural communities, allowing them to access safe drinking water. The initiative has led to the construction and rehabilitation of 51 drinking water systems that directly benefit around 8,050 families. This development not only signifies the improvement in sanitation but also aligns with Banco Pichincha's commitment to social responsibility.

Banco Pichincha emphasizes that its reputation is a valuable asset, and the successful implementation of this program is a testament to its dedication to community welfare. By enhancing access to essential resources like clean water, the program is poised to foster healthier and more resilient rural communities in Ecuador, ultimately contributing to the broader goals of sustainable development in the region.
