Body of 19-year-old found after drowning in a stream in Northern Piauí

The body of 19-year-old Kawilliam do Nascimento Frota was discovered after a drowning incident in a stream in Piripiri, Northern Piauí.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday when Kawilliam do Nascimento Frota, aged 19, drowned in a stream in Piripiri, located in Northern Piauí, Brazil. Emergency services, including the local fire department, were alerted about the drowning and commenced search and recovery operations. Unfortunately, the body was located the following day, on Monday, during the recovery efforts.

The local fire department, 6th Military Fire Brigade, provided updates on the situation and confirmed the recovery of the body. They immediately contacted the Instituto Médico Legal (IML) to carry out the necessary procedures following the recovery. This incident highlights the ongoing risks associated with recreational water activities, especially in natural water bodies within the region, which can pose dangers to the public.
