Truck driver is held up at a gas station on BR-050 and has 100 packs of diapers stolen

A truck driver was robbed of 100 packs of disposable diapers at a gas station on BR-050 while resting in his vehicle.

A 59-year-old truck driver reported to the Military Police that he was held up by an armed man in the early hours of Sunday at a gas station along BR-050 in Uberaba, Brazil. The driver was resting in the truck parked at the gas station when he was awakened around 4:30 AM with the intention of resuming his journey, only to be confronted by the suspect who demanded he return to the cabin and stay there.

The truck driver reported that he remained inside his vehicle for about three hours. When he emerged later around 7:30 AM, he discovered that the seal on the cargo compartment had been broken, and upon checking the goods, he found that 100 packs of disposable diapers had been stolen. A pair of scissors was reportedly found at the scene, likely used by the robber to cut the seal and access the cargo.

This incident raises concerns about the safety and security of truck drivers, especially during long hauls where they may need to rest at gas stations. The increasing number of robberies targeting truckers underlines the importance of heightened security measures at rest areas and greater vigilance among drivers when resting in unfamiliar locations. The police investigation aims to identify and apprehend the offender to prevent future incidents of this nature.
