SHO dances on a thief's shoulders, receives suspension order as a 'gift'
A police officer in Madhya Pradesh was suspended after a video surfaced showing him dancing on the shoulders of a notorious criminal during his birthday celebration in the police station premises.
In Morena district, Madhya Pradesh, controversy erupted regarding police conduct when a video of Jaora police station in-charge (SHO) Darshan Lal Shukla surfaced, showing him in a compromising situation during a birthday celebration in the police precincts. The incident occurred on the evening of February 28, when Shukla was seen energetically dancing on the shoulders of a known history-sheeter, Lavkush Sharma, who has numerous criminal cases against him. This incident raised serious questions about the integrity and professionalism of the police force within the community.
The video, which has gone viral, shows Lavkush Sharma lifting SHO Shukla and they are both seen dancing to popular Bollywood songs, while other police personnel are also seen enjoying the celebration. The obvious breach of decorum shocked many, leading to public outcry and demands for accountability within the police. As a result, the Superintendent of Police, Sameer Saurabh, took swift action by suspending Shukla with immediate effect, highlighting the importance of maintaining discipline in the police force.
This incident not only tarnishes the reputation of the Madhya Pradesh police but also raises concerns about the relationships between law enforcement and known criminals. The incident suggests a troubling disregard for the seriousness of law enforcement responsibilities when officers engage in such behavior with individuals who have a well-documented criminal record. Such actions undermine public trust and emphasize the need for stricter disciplinary measures against police personnel who fail to uphold their duty.
