A. Mockus shared previously unseen footage of the storm that halted his journey: 'The waves were higher than faith'

Lithuanian adventurer A. Mockus reflects on his harrowing experience at sea one year after a storm forced him to halt his journey across the Pacific Ocean.

A. Mockus, a Lithuanian adventurer, marked the anniversary of a life-threatening storm that interrupted his Pacific journey by sharing new footage of the incident. Last Friday, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) received a distress beacon signal from a vessel located about 740 kilometers east of Makėjas. AMSA established communication with a passenger of the rowing boat, while the Royal Australian Navy ship HMAS Choules was en route from Brisbane to assist. In his post, Mockus reflected on the tumultuous conditions he faced, describing waves that towered above his expectations and intense winds that challenged his plans. He emphasized that the battle was not just against the storm but also within himself, sharing video evidence of the horrifying yet awe-inspiring natural forces. This poignant reflection serves not only as a testament to his adventure but also as a motivational reminder about facing one’s fears.
