Amazon Web Services (AWS) has significantly increased its planned investment in Spain by announcing an additional 18 billion euros, bringing its total investment to 33.7 billion euros. This move is aimed at enhancing its data center infrastructure and building a new manufacturing facility in the autonomous community of Aragón. The announcement, made at the Mobile World Congress, highlights Amazon's commitment to growing its cloud operations in the region while also addressing local economic needs.

The new facility is intended for the manufacturing, storage, and recycling of servers, estimated to create approximately 1,800 direct jobs in the area. This construction is part of a broader strategy by Amazon to solidify its presence in Europe, as U.S. tech companies ramp up their investments in the region. The facility will not only support local job creation but also serve as a critical supply base for Amazon's extensive data centers spread across Europe, showcasing the company's ambitions in the fast-growing cloud computing market.

In conjunction with this significant investment, Amazon has pledged an additional 30 million euros to support initiatives in the areas where its data centers are established.
