The musical 'Gal, o Musical' marks the debut of a theatrical celebration of Gal Costa's life and career in São Paulo.

'Gal, o Musical' debuted in São Paulo on Friday, June 6, showcasing the life and legacy of Gal Costa, who is regarded as one of Brazil's most iconic singers in the MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) and Tropicalista movement. This theatrical production offers a glimpse into Costa's childhood, her close relationship with her mother, Mariah, her friendships with prominent musicians like Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, and pivotal moments in her musical journey, including her adoption of her son, Gabriel, in 2008.

The show, featuring an 80% northeastern cast, emphasizes the cultural richness of Brazil while remaining accessible to the public with ticket prices ranging from R$ 50 to R$ 300. Costa's memorable hits are prominently featured, such as "Força Estranha," "Baby," and "Divino, Maravilhoso," enriching the musical experience with her famed discography and inviting nostalgia among audiences who cherish her music.
