Continuing Attacks in the Middle East – K. Budrys' Message

Lithuania's Foreign Minister K. Budrys emphasized the need to ensure the safety of Lithuanian citizens amid ongoing conflict in the Middle East, stating that their situation is a priority.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister K. Budrys addressed the media regarding the safety of Lithuanian citizens following escalating tensions in the Middle East. He highlighted that the primary focus is on ensuring the safety and security of its citizens in the region, with the government actively working on multiple levels to address the situation. Budrys mentioned that approximately 2,000 individuals are currently in the Middle East, with fewer registered at Lithuanian embassies, and urged citizens to register to facilitate timely assistance.

According to Budrys, the majority of Lithuanian citizens are currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). While there is currently no discussion of evacuating citizens from the region, he reassured that all mechanisms for such processes are prepared should the need arise. He emphasized that while there are no immediate plans for repatriation or evacuation, all necessary support structures have been established in collaboration with the European Union to ensure the safety of Lithuanians abroad.

As the situation in the Middle East remains tense, the Lithuanian government continues to monitor developments closely. Budrys' statements illustrate a proactive approach to addressing the safety of its citizens during international crises, serving both as a reassurance to families back home and as an alert for those currently in the affected areas, urging them to remain aware and registered with consular services.
