On Monday, many places in Latvia will have rain and snow
Weather forecasts predict rain and snow for many regions in Latvia on Monday, particularly in Vidzeme and Latgale, while Kurzemē and Zemgale may experience sunnier conditions.
The weather forecast for Latvia indicates that on Monday, many areas, especially in the Vidzeme and Latgale regions, will experience rain and snow. Meteorologists have noted that the skies will be mostly cloudy, with the western regions, particularly Kurzemē and Zemgale, expecting more sunshine. Wind speeds from the west and northwest could reach between 9-14 meters per second. Maximum air temperatures are predicted to range between +1 and +6 degrees Celsius.
In Riga, the capital city, the weather will also be predominantly cloudy with occasional light precipitation. The strong western winds will transition into northwestern winds, potentially gusting up to 13 meters per second, with temperatures warming to around +3 to +4 degrees Celsius. The ongoing weather patterns are influenced by a cyclone retreating eastward, while a high-pressure area over Central Europe is strengthening over the Baltic Sea, altering the local conditions.
Moreover, it has been noted that in the last days of February and the first of March, a total of ten maximum temperature records were reported across Latvia according to data from the Latvian Environment, Geology, and Meteorology Center. The warmest weather was recorded in the southeastern part of the country, reflecting the varying effects of recent climatic changes.
