3-year-old child rescued by firefighters after disappearing in forested area in Cuiabá

A 3-year-old boy who went missing was rescued by firefighters in Cuiabá after playing near the Rio Coxipó.

In Cuiabá, a 3-year-old boy went missing while playing near the Rio Coxipó, prompting an extensive search operation by local firefighters and rescue teams. The child was last seen in the Condomínio Reserva Rio Cuiabá on the afternoon of Saturday, the 28th, which led his family to initially start the search before the firefighters were alerted.

The Centro Integrado de Operações de Segurança Pública (Ciosp) coordinated the search efforts. Firefighters arrived on the scene rapidly, along with specialized teams, including the Núcleo de Operações de Busca, Resgate e Salvamento com Cães (Nobresc). They conducted thorough searches based on the last known sighting of the child, utilizing their training and resources to cover the area efficiently.

After determined efforts, the boy was found approximately 480 meters from where he was last seen. This incident highlights not only the crucial role of the community and emergency services in search operations but also raises awareness around child safety in rural and forested areas, especially near water bodies.
