Tennis star Jessica was astonished by her picture: 'What the hell happened to my body?'

American tennis player Jessica Pegula expressed surprise at a WTA-released image that made her waist look abnormally small and led to humorous social media reactions.

Jessica Pegula, a prominent American tennis player, found herself in a peculiar scenario when the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) published a confusing image just before her match against Elina Svitolina at the Dubai WTA finals. The image depicted her with an extraordinarily slender waist, which astonished Pegula, who took to Instagram to ridicule the altered image, humorously questioning, 'What the hell happened to my body?' While she jested about receiving a 'dream waist' from the WTA, she also noted with a playful tone that a portion of her arm seemed to be missing from the image.

Other tennis players, such as Madison Keys, joined in on the jest, commenting on the absurdity of the picture and quipping about how prolonged matches could cause such distortions. The issue stemmed from the image editing where the background had been removed alongside parts of her clothing and limbs, leading to an unintentional alteration of Pegula's appearance. Recognizing the error, the WTA quickly removed the misleading image and replaced it with the correct version showing the complete outfit and the player accurately.

Despite the strange uproar caused by the image, Pegula went on to win the final match against Svitolina with a score of 6-2, 6-4. The incident not only highlights the sometimes bizarre outcomes of image editing in sports media but also showcases the light-hearted camaraderie among professional athletes and their ability to share humor even amidst competition and pressure.
