The Summit: An Unprecedented Turn in Finland: "You now have 36 hours"
The second season of the Finnish reality show 'The Summit' has begun, featuring a group of unknown contestants racing to summit a mountain in Norway while competing for a cash prize.
The second season of the Finnish reality show 'The Summit' premiered today on the MTV3 channel, bringing together 14 unknown Finnish contestants who will form an expedition team. Their goal is to traverse 133 kilometers to reach the summit of Kolåstinden Mountain in Norway within 15 days. Throughout this journey, they aim to carry as much money as they can to the summit, as any participant who quits will cause the team to lose their funds.
To retrieve part of the cash prize, three volunteers must rappel down a 223-meter vertical rock wall to collect three bags containing a total of 150,000 euros. Interestingly, one of the bags was locked, and the team decided to alternate the responsibility of carrying it, starting with the eldest team member, a 63-year-old wilderness guide named Antti. This twist in the competition adds to the tension, as the team must navigate both physical challenges and the mental pressure of teamwork and competition.
As the team set out towards their first campsite, they were reminded that 'the quick eat the slow,' kicking off a race against time. This phrase foreshadows the competitive nature of the expedition, where strategy and speed will be crucial for their success. The premiere marks a significant moment for the show's fans and contestants alike, highlighting the excitement and unpredictability that reality television brings.
