The IDF believes it is impossible to inflict deep damage on Iran's military capabilities in a few days
The IDF assesses that achieving a significant blow to Iran's military capabilities cannot be done quickly, highlighting the lengthy nature of military operations against Iran.
The Israeli Air Force has stated that the goal of its campaign against Iran is to achieve substantial and enduring damage to the Iranian regime's military and strategic capabilities. However, military sources caution that such an objective cannot be realized within days. This decision follows Israel's conclusion that Iran continues to develop its strike capabilities and is strengthening its nuclear program. As a result, the IDF has developed a structured plan aimed at reducing the threat level substantially, yet military officials emphasize that this will not be a short operation but rather a prolonged campaign.
A key objective of this military effort is to damage Iran's missile systems and launchers. Despite significant impacts achieved during the 12-day war in June, Iran has managed to restore its capabilities within a few months, even increasing its missile production rate to dozens per month. Military sources have indicated that this time, officials aim to inflict damage that will extend the period of recovery and reduce the threat level to much lower levels compared to the current situation.
In the initial two days of the operation, the IDF reportedly launched about 2,000 munitions against targets in Iran, matching the amount sent during the June conflict. However, a security source clarified that Iran remains resolute despite these efforts, indicating the challenges the IDF may face in achieving its long-term objectives and the complexities involved in such military engagements.
