Wall Street Journal: Israel attacked organizations in Iran responsible for suppressing protests

Reports indicate that Israel has conducted airstrikes in Tehran targeting security mechanisms involved in repressing the population.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel executed a series of airstrikes in Tehran aimed at security organizations responsible for suppressing protests within the Iranian population. The strikes targeted locations associated with the 'Tharallah' organization, which coordinates police operations of the Basij militia and psychological warfare, as well as the command center of Iran's special police forces.

In conjunction with these attacks, explosions were reported near the Iranian state television building, and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that they struck targets in the capital as well as destroyed two fighter jets (F4 and F5) that were positioned for takeoff at the Tabriz airport. IDF spokesperson, Brigadier General Efi Defrin, indicated that the military operations aim to create the necessary military and operational conditions to overthrow the Iranian regime.

According to Defrin, the initial wave of Operation 'Lion's Roar' resulted in the deaths of Iran's Chief of Staff, Abd al-Rahim Mousavi, along with seven other senior officials. The operation is being conducted in coordination with the U.S. military and involves targeting missile systems, military industries, and nuclear sites. Defrin emphasized that the operation would continue as long as necessary to achieve all set objectives.
