Attacks Continue Following Khamenei's Death

The military operations by the USA and Israel against targets in Iran escalate following the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

On Sunday, military attacks from the USA and Israel targeted various locations in Iran in light of the confirmed death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that under the leadership of the military intelligence service, their air force has begun a significant wave of strikes against what they term the 'Iranian terrorist regime' in central Tehran, claiming that around 40 individuals in Iran's leadership have been killed. This escalation follows an intensifying series of hostilities between Israel and Iran, marked by air raid sirens sounding in Israel warning of Iranian missile attacks.

In tandem with the military actions, Iranian officials, including their UN ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani, condemned the attacks as violations of international law. They accuse the US-Israeli operation of purposefully targeting civilian infrastructure and causing a significant number of civilian casualties. Iravani, addressing a special meeting of the UN Security Council, claimed that the operations had resulted in 'hundreds' of civilian deaths and injuries, highlighting the growing humanitarian concerns amidst these escalated military operations.

As tensions continue, voices from within Iran, including interviews with civilians like a 33-year-old woman from Isfahan, provide a glimpse into the human impact of these attacks, with increasing calls for international attention and support against what many perceive as aggressions harming ordinary citizens. The situation is critical, drawing international responses and raising questions about the long-term implications for regional stability and the Iranian regime's future.
