Chaos at Middle Eastern airports – 3,400 flights canceled

Over 3,400 flights have been canceled across several Middle Eastern countries due to the closing of airspaces over security concerns.

Thousands of travelers are either stranded or redirected to other airports since Saturday morning as Israel, Qatar, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain closed their airspaces. The United Arab Emirates has also reported no flight activity over its territory, following a government announcement of a 'temporary and partial closure' of its airspace. The cancellation of operations at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports has led to the cancellation of over 1,000 flights by major Middle Eastern airlines according to reports. Overall, more than 3,400 flights have been canceled across seven airports in the region, according to FlightRadar24, with many airspaces remaining closed, causing significant disruption to air travel.
