Olympic Festival: Swimming Star on Skates and Stunning Skateboard Tricks
The Olympic Festival in Ceske Budejovice attracted 112,000 visitors over seventeen days, featuring numerous Czech sports stars and a variety of sports activities.
The Olympic Festival held in Ceske Budejovice showcased an impressive turnout with 112,000 visitors over a span of seventeen days. Attendees were treated to demonstrations and opportunities to engage in twenty-four different sports organized by twenty involved sports federations. Notably, the event welcomed fresh Olympic medalists such as Zuzana Maděrová and Eva Adamczyková, alongside swimmer Barbora Seemanová, adding star power to the festival.
The festival's activities included a large skating area of 5,300 square meters, a 700-meter trail for cross-country skiing, and even a 26-meter long ski slope. The most popular sport at the festival was skating, followed by curling and biathlon, which also attracted significant participation with around 5,000 skates rented out, along with 12,500 pairs of cross-country skis, 8,500 snowboard rentals, and countless sports experiences for attendees to enjoy.
The event's success also highlighted the collaborative efforts of the Czech Olympic Committee and its partners, including Toyota, which set up a dedicated zone that drew hundreds of daily visitors. This festival not only promoted various winter sports but also provided a platform for fostering community engagement and enthusiasm for the upcoming Winter Olympics.
