IDF reports that a missile hit a building in Tel Aviv; municipality: 200 residents evacuated

A missile struck a building in Tel Aviv, resulting in one death and injuries to 25 others, with over 200 residents evacuated due to damage.

A missile has reportedly struck a building in Tel Aviv, resulting in the death of one woman and injuring 25 others, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The IDF notes that this particular building lacked a protective shelter, which may have contributed to the severity of the incident. The Tel Aviv municipality indicated that approximately 40 buildings in the city sustained damage from the missile, prompting the evacuation of over 200 residents to nearby hotels for safety and shelter.

In addition to this missile strike, the IDF mentioned that Iran has launched dozens of missiles since yesterday, with the majority being intercepted before reaching their targets. The building that was hit in Ramat Gan sustained damage from a cluster bomb, which released smaller explosive devices across a wider area. Fortunately, residents who were in designated protected areas were reportedly unharmed during the cluster bomb attack, although the IDF stresses the importance of remaining in protected spaces during such incidents.

The aftermath of the strike caused significant damage to buildings and vehicles, with some vehicles catching fire due to the explosion. Among those injured, four individuals were reported to be in moderate condition, while 16 sustained light injuries, including seven children. Emergency services reported that two buildings were directly affected by the missile impact, leading to large craters forming on the roads, as well as a fire in one of the structures that subsequently caused part of it to collapse.
