A residential house burned down in the Prienai district: flames spread to outbuildings

A residential house in the Prienai district of Lithuania has burned down, with flames spreading to nearby outbuildings and an ongoing investigation into the circumstances.

In the Prienai district of Lithuania, a residential house measuring 10x5 meters was completely engulfed in flames upon the arrival of firefighters. The single-story log building had a collapsed roof, and emergency services quickly shut off the electricity supply to prevent further hazards. The fire consumed all the items within the house, and there are reports that a dog may have been inside at the time of the fire.

Firefighting efforts involved transporting water from a natural water source located about 2 kilometers away and an additional supply from an artificial body of water just 100 meters from the site. The flames not only destroyed the residential building but also caused damage to surrounding structures, singeing approximately 3 square meters of the roof on an auxiliary building located 2 meters from the fire scene and affecting a wooden building standing 5 meters away.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the fire, including whether a smoke detector was installed in the house, which remains undetermined. This incident underscores the importance of fire safety measures in residential areas, particularly in relation to the installation of smoke detection systems as a preventive measure against such disasters.
