Arrests Made for the Manufacture and Possession of Explosives and Incendiary Materials
Two men in Greece were arrested for manufacturing and possessing explosives and incendiary materials, among other charges.
In a significant operation led by the Organized Crime Division, two Greek men aged 50 and 49 were arrested for the manufacture and possession of explosives and incendiary devices, as well as forgery, theft, and violation of firearms laws. This action follows an extensive investigation by the Crimes Against Property Department that linked these individuals to a luxury car theft incident that occurred in Kifisia at the end of September 2025. The police operation took place during the afternoon on Friday across various locations in Attica, in cooperation with the Attica Immediate Response Unit.
During searches conducted at their residences, police uncovered a significant cache of weapons, including pistols and military rifles, numerous rounds of ammunition, explosive materials, slow-burning fuses, several luxury watches, and an assortment of car keys. The evidence gathered highlights the serious nature of the crimes these suspects are connected to, which not only involve property theft but also threaten public safety due to the possession of military-grade weaponry and explosives.
The arrests are seen as a crucial step in addressing organized crime in the region, as authorities continue to investigate the networks involved in such criminal activities. The operation underscores the collaborative efforts of various law enforcement units in Greece to tackle growing concerns regarding firearm regulations and the risks posed by illegal possession and use of explosives, aiming to ensure the safety of the public and the integrity of law enforcement efforts.
