Osasco wins Gerdau Minas and conquers the penta of the Brazil Women’s Volleyball Cup
Osasco secured their fifth title in the Brazil Women’s Volleyball Cup by defeating Minas with a score of 3 sets to 1.
On Saturday, Osasco triumphed in the Brazil Women's Volleyball Cup, solidifying their status as the most successful team in the competition's history. They overcame Minas in a thrilling match held at the packed Moringão gym in Londrina, winning with set scores of 25/23, 26/28, 25/20, and 25/17. This victory marked Osasco's fifth title, and it was their second consecutive win in the tournament, with player Camila Brait being named the best of the championship. The significance of Osasco's victory extends beyond the trophy; it positions them firmly at the top of the tournament's winners list, surpassing Sesc-Flamengo, which has four titles, and Minas, who remains with three. Additionally, the team's success can be partly attributed to Tifanny, who, just hours before the semifinal, was released to play following a legal battle that went up to Brazil's Supreme Court. Tifanny made a key impact during the match, scoring 15 points and playing a crucial role as a wing spiker from the third set. In addition to the trophy, Osasco's victory secures them a spot in the 2026 Supercup and the 2026 South American Club Championship, both significant achievements for the team as they continue to build their legacy in Brazilian women's volleyball.
