Iran publishes data on its casualties and guidelines for leaving Tehran and suspending classes
Iran has reported significant casualties and damage due to attacks, urging citizens to avoid crowded areas and consider leaving Tehran.
Iran's Red Crescent spokesperson announced that 24 provinces have suffered from attacks, with casualties including at least 201 dead and 747 injured. Over 220 operational teams are on high alert and present at incident locations to assist in rescue efforts. Citizens are advised to keep a distance of 100 meters from affected areas to facilitate rescue operations amid ongoing threats.
Additionally, Iranian media have reported dire incidents, including the deaths of 85 schoolgirls and injuries to 92 more due to an Israeli missile strike on a school in the Minab region of Hormozgan Province, which is near the Strait of Hormuz. A separate attack on a sports hall in Lamerd, Fars Province, resulted in the tragic deaths of 16 athletes, underscoring the severe impact of these assaults on civilian life.
In response to the escalating crisis, Iran's Supreme National Security Council has issued a statement urging citizens to leave Tehran and some other cities as much as possible, although specific locations were not detailed. This move indicates a recognition of the ongoing dangers in urban areas, reflecting the severity of the situation and the government's attempts to mitigate civilian casualties as conflict escalates in the region.
