Chaos in the Gulf due to Iran's retaliation! BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi closed
The BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi was closed for a day due to the ongoing emergency and national security advisories following the UAE's interception of Iranian ballistic missiles.
The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi was temporarily closed as a precautionary measure on Saturday, coinciding with a heightened state of alert after the UAE successfully intercepted several Iranian ballistic missiles. In statements released on social media platform X, the temple emphasized its commitment to the safety and well-being of its community, indicating that the closure aligns with current emergency protocols and national security advice.
In addition to the temple closure, a planned art exhibition titled 'Legacy of the UAE- A Celebration of Emirati Artistic Voices' in Dubai was also postponed by its organizers, the Dubai International Academic City (DIAC). Citing community safety as a priority, the DIAC team announced the decision to delay the event, highlighting the growing concerns over security in the region as tensions escalate following the missile interceptions.
Earlier in the day, the UAE's Ministry of Defense confirmed that the country's air defense systems had effectively countered missile threats, successfully intercepting multiple projectiles. This incident has heightened tensions in the Gulf region, raising questions about the implications of Iran's military actions and the overall security dynamics in the Middle East as countries respond to the perceived threats to their sovereignty and safety.
