Zelensky: It is important for the US to act decisively against Iran
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the need for decisive US action against Iran while cautioning against a wider conflict.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently commented on the American attacks on Iran, highlighting the necessity for Washington to take decisive action while also expressing concern about escalating hostilities that could lead to a broader war. In a social media post, Zelensky noted that American determination has historically weakened global criminals. He previously called for the overthrow of the Iranian regime, showcasing his alignment with US interests in countering Iranβs actions.
Zelensky pointed out the close alliance between Tehran and Moscow, particularly in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine. He referenced Iran's provision of thousands of long-range Shahed drones to Russia, which have been instrumental in the conflict against Ukraine. These drones have not only been delivered to Russia but are also being manufactured locally in Russian factories using Iranian designs, raising concerns about military collaborations between these nations.
Moreover, Zelensky's statement was underscored by the statistic that Russia has launched over 57,000 Shahed drones against Ukraine during the ongoing hostilities. This highlights a significant threat to Ukrainian sovereignty and security, making it imperative for international allies, particularly the United States, to respond with effective measures to deter further aggression from both Russia and its Iranian ally.
