Police arrest suspect of creating 'virtual balls' on Roblox with sexual content and crime advocacy

Brazilian police arrested a man for allegedly creating virtual parties on Roblox that exposed minors to sexual content and crime promotion.

In a significant crackdown on online crime, Brazilian police arrested a suspect in Duque de Caxias for creating and managing 'virtual balls' on the gaming platform Roblox. These virtual events allegedly exposed children and teenagers to sexual content and glorified criminal behavior. This operation falls under the 'End Game Operation,' led by the Police Department for Victims of Children and Adolescents (DCAV).

Investigations revealed that these virtual gatherings functioned within the popular online gaming platform, which is frequently used by minors. The events included simulations involving weapons, drugs, alcohol, and encouraged practices associated with criminal activity. Following the arrest, police executed search warrants at locations linked to two other suspects, and materials collected during these searches will undergo forensic analysis to further the investigation.

The Civil Police emphasized that the internet cannot be considered a safe space for unrestricted access by children and adolescents. They urged guardians to monitor their children's online interactions closely, highlighting the ongoing risks associated with unregulated access to virtual environments, particularly those that may expose minors to harmful content.
