Satellite images show destruction at the residence of the Iranian Leader in Tehran
Satellite images reveal significant damage to the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's residence due to recent Israeli and American airstrikes.
Recent satellite images have unveiled extensive damage to the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's residence in Tehran, attributed to airstrikes carried out by Israeli and American forces. The images, reported by The New York Times, capture the devastation within the complex on Palestine Street, which serves as Khamenei's official residence.
Iranian officials confirmed to Reuters that Khamenei was not present in Tehran during the bombardment, having been moved to a secure location. This development adds to the severity of the incident as it indicates a targeted strike against high-ranking officials. Additionally, journalist Abdul Qader Faiz noted that the presidential complex, housing numerous administrative and sovereign buildings, was also struck during the attacks.
The analysis of the satellite images shows at least five buildings within the complex were significantly damaged, with smoke rising from the targeted sites. The airstrikes have primarily focused on the northern and eastern areas of Tehran, where sensitive military installations and residences of top officials and leaders are located, further highlighting the ongoing conflict and the precarious situation in the region.
