Souček for Sale? West Ham Struggles with Huge Loss, Will Part with More Players
West Ham United faces the need to sell players due to a significant financial loss, even as they aim to avoid relegation in the English football league.
West Ham United has announced that it will need to sell players during the summer transfer window, even if it succeeds in avoiding relegation from the English Premier League. The club is grappling with a staggering financial loss of £104.2 million (approximately CZK 2.88 billion) for the last financial year, a stark contrast to the previous season in which they reported a profit of £57.2 million. This dramatic shift in financial health is attributed to their poor performance last season, finishing in 14th place, which led to decreased earnings from broadcast rights and a lack of participation in European competitions, as well as a downturn in player sales revenue.
