11-year-old girl falls from a school window: injured

An 11-year-old girl fell approximately ten meters from a window at her school during recess and was hospitalized with injuries, though she is not in life-threatening condition.

Yesterday, during recess, a sudden scream brought the attention of students and teachers at the P. Thouar and L. Gonzaga Comprehensive Institute in Via Tabacchi. An 11-year-old girl, a student at the secondary school within the institute, fell approximately ten meters from a window. After the fall, she was taken to the hospital with injuries, but thankfully, she is not in danger of losing her life. According to the school principal, Adriana Colloca, it is fortunate that the outcome was not more severe considering the height of the fall.

The incident shocked the school community as students and teachers rushed to the scene after hearing the screams. Colloca explains that she was in her office on the ground floor with her colleagues when they heard the cries. Upon rushing outside, she found the girl on the ground, conscious and responsive. Colloca communicated with the girl, who indicated that she had gone to the bathroom and leaned out to look at something outside, which eventually led to the fall.

The circumstances surrounding how the girl fell from the window are still unclear, raising concerns about safety measures within the school environment. Such incidents highlight the need for strict protocols and supervision during school hours to prevent similar occurrences in the future. The fact that the girl emerged with non-life-threatening injuries is a relief, but it prompts a reevaluation of safety protocols at the educational institution.
