Ukrainian railways announce changes to train services due to Russian attacks

Ukrainian railways have implemented temporary restrictions on train services following recent Russian attacks, particularly affecting routes to and from Dnipro-Holovnyi station and requiring bus transfers in some areas.

Ukrainian railways, known as Ukrzaliznytsia, have announced significant changes to their train services due to recent Russian attacks that occurred on February 27-28. The attacks prompted the railway service to temporarily restrict operations at Dnipro-Holovnyi station for certain trains. Passengers expecting to travel between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia will primarily rely on bus transfers to complete their journeys until the situation stabilizes.

Following the attacks, which also resulted in power outages in Zaporizhzhia, the rail service stated that while suburban trains are still operating, travelers might experience delays of up to one hour, though no train cancellations have been reported thus far. Four specific trains facing restrictions to and from Dnipro-Holovnyi station will alter their schedules, necessitating adjustments for passengers and making connections more challenging.

Moreover, in Kharkiv Oblast, alternative transport options like bus transfers are being employed to assist passengers traveling from Lozova to Kramatorsk. The regional express trains operating on the Izium route are confirmed to run as per the regular schedule, and Train No. 101/102 on the Barvinkove–Kherson route is coordinating with connecting passengers to minimize disruption. These operational changes underline the ongoing challenges faced by Ukrainian railways amidst the heightened tensions and ongoing conflict in the region.
