Alisa Vainio speaks candidly - 'If you want to succeed in the world'

Finnish marathon runner Alisa Vainio has recently excelled in her sport, setting multiple national records and winning the Sevilla Marathon.

Alisa Vainio, a Finnish marathon runner, has been in remarkable form over the past few months, achieving impressive results in major competitions. Following her fifth place finish at the World Marathon Championships in Tokyo in September, Vainio broke the Finnish marathon record three times. Most recently, she clinched victory at the challenging Sevilla Marathon with a personal best time of 2:20:39, raising eyebrows with her exceptional performance at this point in the season.

Former top endurance athlete Annemari Sandell weighed in on Vainio's accomplishments, emphasizing that there is nothing extraordinary about her current success, especially given the nature of endurance training. Sandell, who boasts an impressive track record including a junior world championship title and a world championship bronze medal, noted that Vainio's run at the SM Championships in Vantaa, where she recorded a time of 2:23:07, demonstrated her potential to achieve even greater feats. She believes that with the right race conditions, a time under 2:20 is entirely feasible for Vainio.

The key to Vainio's continued success, according to Sandell, is maintaining her health as she heads into the remainder of the competitive season. As she's shown in the past, Vainio does not struggle to keep her conditioning, suggesting a bright future ahead in her marathon career if she can stay injury-free and continue to perform at this exceptional level.
