During the UMK event, he conceived the idea of co-hosting the next competition alongside his friend and podcast colleague Jorma Uotinen. Half a year later, Sykkö received a call from UMK's producer Matti Myllyaho, inquiring about their interest in hosting, which excited Uotinen as soon as he learned about it.
