Ukraine launched a drone attack on a refinery in Southern Russia, setting it ablaze without reported casualties.
In a recent escalation of tensions, Ukraine reportedly carried out a drone strike that ignited a refinery in the Krasnodar region of Southern Russia. The attack on the AlbaΕ‘nefti refinery in the village of Novominskaja occurred during the night, leading to significant damage due to the downed drone wreckage, as stated by local authorities. Russian officials have commonly attributed damages from such attacks to the impact of drone debris, implying that their air defense systems successfully intercepted these threats.
The fire in question engulfed a tank at the mini-refinery and resulted in approximately 150 square meters of destruction in the vicinity, prompting the response of 39 firefighters to tackle the blaze. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties, and the damage remains localized. The village of Novominskaja lies about 250 kilometers from the frontline between Ukraine and Russia, indicating that the conflict's reach is becoming more pronounced in areas far from populated war zones.
