New drone near the aircraft carrier – raid against a man
A drone was spotted near the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle in Malmö, leading to police questioning a 60-year-old man suspected of violating aviation laws.
On Friday, a new drone was seen flying in the vicinity of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, which is docked in Malmö. The incident prompted police action around 11:38 AM, as the drone was flying in an area where aerial activity is prohibited. According to Lasse Brundin from the police department, the drone was forced down due to the breach of aviation regulations.
The police subsequently identified the drone pilot, a Swedish man in his sixties, in the Spillepengen area. Although he has not been arrested, he is currently under suspicion for violating aviation laws. The situation is under investigation, with the man denying any wrongdoing and claiming he had conducted research on where it is allowed to fly drones.
The military has confirmed the incident, and the police stress the importance of adhering to flight restrictions, especially in sensitive areas such as those around military vessels. This case raises concerns about drone operation regulations in Sweden, particularly near military installations and the potential implications for national security.
