The municipality recorded 89.2 millimeters of rain within 24 hours, adding to concerns about safety in the area. Fortunately, the residence that collapsed was unoccupied at the time of the incident, preventing any fatalities or injuries.
In total, the authorities reported 53 incidents related to the heavy rain, which included 13 buildings being interdicted due to safety concernsβsix of these were partially closed, while seven were deemed entirely unsafe for habitation. Local emergency services indicated that there were six individuals who were displaced from their homes, but no one was categorized as homeless. The municipal government noted that those affected sought refuge with friends and family rather than requiring shelter at designated emergency facilities.
The Paracambi City Hall has dispatched teams from the Civil Defense to monitor and inspect properties in high-risk areas following the rainfall.
