Scouting America agrees to 5 changes under Pentagon pressure

Scouting America (formerly the Boy Scouts of America) has consented to implement five changes aimed at aligning with the U.S. Department of War's demands following accusations of embracing politically divisive ideologies.

Scouting America, the organization formerly known as the Boy Scouts of America, has agreed to adopt significant changes in response to pressure from the U.S. Department of War, as disclosed by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. Hegseth indicated in a video message that he was contemplating withdrawing support for the organization due to its alleged adoption of what he described as 'radical, woke ideology.' The organization is now expected to comply with Executive Order 14173, which is centered on eliminating divisive language and ideologies from its programs and publications, including the discontinuation of a merit badge related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
