Miss Finland's 2024 first runner-up, Tiia Aalto, was hospitalized after sustaining severe injuries to her hand while intervening in a dog fight.

Tiia Aalto, known as the first runner-up in the 2024 Miss Finland competition, recently shared on her Instagram story that she had to be hospitalized following a severe incident where she intervened in a dog fight. During this intervention, she suffered deep bite wounds to her left hand, which resulted in an open fracture affecting her joints and tendons. Due to the severity of her injuries, she underwent surgery to properly clean and treat the wounds in order to prevent a serious risk of infection.

The surgery involved carefully reopening her wounds and cleaning them to address the critical risk of infection associated with such injuries. After the operation, Aalto revealed that her broken bone was secured with two metal pins to ensure it healed correctly. She has been recovering in the hospital for several days, receiving intravenous antibiotics to combat the high risk of infection that accompanies these type of injuries.
