The Movement of Workers Without Roof (MTST) is set to celebrate the announcement of nearly 1,900 apartments acquired through the federal housing program 'Minha Casa, Minha Vida' this Sunday in a ceremony held at the Casa de Portugal in São Paulo. Present at the event will be prominent figures such as Guilherme Boulos, the head of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, and his wife Natalia Szermeta Boulos, a pre-candidate for federal deputy and a leader of the PSOL party, alongside state deputy Ediane Maria from PSOL-SP.

Ana Paula Perles, the national coordinator of MTST, emphasized that the year 2026 marks a significant milestone for the organization, which has engaged in a prolonged struggle for housing rights and social justice. The acquisition of these apartments is a vital step towards providing housing solutions for many families in São Paulo and reflects the ongoing efforts of the MTST to address the housing crisis in the region.

Additionally, the event will serve as a platform to address pressing issues, such as the lack of investment from Governor Tarcísio de Freitas in preventing and combating violence against women.
