A man was arrested after allegedly setting his partner on fire in Sarandi, Paraná, Brazil.

In a shocking incident in Sarandi, Paraná, a 30-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after being burned by her partner, Igor Vinícius da Costa Nogueira. According to the Civil Police, the attack occurred when Igor threw solvent on her and ignited it. He was subsequently apprehended by the Municipal Civil Guard while sleeping in a children's tent in the backyard of their house after the incident.

The police classified the event as a case of attempted femicide occurring in the early hours of Thursday, October 26th. Reports indicate that Igor had followed the victim to her workplace at a local supermarket where she had just finished her shift and assaulted her. Witnesses who spoke with the Municipal Civil Guard recounted instances of Igor's aggressive behavior, including verbally harassing the victim while she was holding their one-year-old child.

The Civil Guard is investigating the case further, and Igor's defense is currently being sought as he underwent a custody hearing that transitioned his initial arrest into preventive detention.
