Melony Ishola, the Head of Programmes at PUNCH Videos, has been chosen for an important reporting project aimed at exploring urban challenges in Lagos State, alongside seven other journalists. This initiative, known as DevReporting, is organized in collaboration with the Pro-Poor Development Media (PDM) Network and is supported by the African Cities Research Consortium (ACRC). It aims to highlight critical issues that affect communities in Lagos, a city facing numerous urban development challenges.

The selection process was highly competitive, with a variety of submissions from journalists involved in print, broadcast, and digital media. The organizers of the project emphasized the importance of the journalists' diverse backgrounds and expertise in addressing the urban issues prevalent in Lagos. This project aims to create impactful stories that can drive public discourse and influence policy regarding urban development and social issues in the region.

The selected journalists will work collectively to investigate and report on the pressing challenges such as housing, transport, infrastructure, and sanitation that impact local communities in Lagos. By raising awareness and presenting informed narratives, the initiative hopes to contribute to the dialogue surrounding urban sustainability and equitable development in one of Africa's largest cities.
