Following the operation in which Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as 'El Mencho', was captured and killed, Xóchitl Gálvez, a former presidential candidate in Mexico, commended President Claudia Sheinbaum for her actions against organized crime. In a radio interview, she lauded the successful operation targeting the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and emphasized the importance of cooperation with the United States while criticizing past attitudes towards sovereignty regarding safety and crime in the country.
