Bloomberg: Saudi Investments in US Stock Markets Doubled

Saudi financial institutions have significantly increased their investments in US stock markets, with trading jumping to around 254 billion riyals in late 2025, while domestic trading has sharply declined.

According to data from the Saudi Capital Market Authority, investments by Saudi financial institutions in US stock markets surged to nearly 254 billion riyals (approximately 67.7 billion USD) in the fourth quarter of 2025, more than doubling compared to the previous year. Bloomberg reported that US stocks accounted for nearly all transactions outside the kingdom during that period. In stark contrast, trading activity in the Saudi stock market has decreased substantially, with total domestic trades plummeting from over 1.1 trillion riyals (about 293.3 billion USD) at the beginning of 2024 to around 574 billion riyals by the end of 2025, equating to roughly 153.1 billion USD.
