Corumbá will have a House of the Brazilian Woman with an investment of R$ 8.3 million

The government of Mato Grosso do Sul has announced plans to construct a Casa da Mulher Brasileira in Corumbá, aimed at supporting women facing violence.

The government of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, has published a bidding notice for the construction of a Casa da Mulher Brasileira in Corumbá, with an estimated investment of R$ 8.4 million. The initiative seeks to enhance the protection and support system for women experiencing violence in the Pantanal region by bringing multiple services under one roof. The building will be located in the Aeroporto neighborhood at the corner of Rua Campo Grande and Rua 21 de Setembro.

The planned Casa da Mulher will cover an area of 1,372.10 square meters and will house various institutions essential for assisting women in need, including a Specialized Police Station for Women (DEAM), the Judiciary, the Public Ministry and Public Defender's Office, as well as a notary and rooms for hearings and psychosocial support. By centralizing these services, the government aims to provide easier access for women seeking help, thus strengthening the overall protective network in the region.

This construction project is crucial in addressing violence against women in a region that may face unique challenges. The establishment of such a facility is expected to have a positive impact, not only providing immediate assistance to victims but also raising awareness and promoting a comprehensive approach to protecting women's rights in the broader context of social policies in Brazil.
