Intense heat returns to AMBA: what the forecast says for the weekend
Intense heat is returning to AMBA this weekend, with temperatures expected to rise to 32°C after a period of cooler weather.
The weather forecast indicates a significant temperature rise in the AMBA (Area Metropolitana de Buenos Aires) as March sets in, with Saturday and Sunday expected to see highs of 32°C. This marks a sharp contrast to the recent days which have been cooler, requiring warmer clothing early in the mornings. The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has reported that the warm spell will occur under partly cloudy skies and stable weather conditions for Buenos Aires and its surrounding areas.
On Friday, the region started with a minimum temperature of 20°C and is predicted to reach a maximum of 28°C without expecting any rain. Winds are coming in from the northeast at speeds not exceeding 22 km/h, and the chance of precipitation is listed at 0%. Saturday will see the temperature continue to climb, with forecasts predicting a minimum of 22 °C and a maximum of 30 °C, featuring mostly cloudy skies while Sunday will bring the peak temperatures into the low 30s.
Alongside this heat wave, yellow alerts have been issued in various provinces across the central part of the country for potential thunderstorms. Thus, while AMBA is set to experience hotter weather, other regions are preparing for severe weather, creating a dynamic and potentially challenging climate scenario for much of Argentina this weekend.
