The book "A Democracia Equilibrista – Políticos e Burocratas no Brasil," authored by Pedro Abramovay and Gabriela Lotta, is being released in an international English edition by the Central European University. Following its successful launch in Portuguese, the English edition is set to embark on an international roadshow beginning on March 23, with the first two events taking place in Vienna, Austria.

The authors will then travel to Berlin, Germany, and to Cape Town, South Africa, where a discussion will occur at the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy. This launch event lineup indicates a significant interest in the themes of democracy and governance explored in the book, as it aims to reach diverse audiences outside of Brazil. Additionally, the English edition will feature a new note from renowned economist Mariana Mazzucato.

The original edition was well-received in Brazil and included notable introductions from political figures such as current president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso. The cross-border presentation of the book highlights the continuing relevance of Brazilian political dynamics on the global stage, encouraging a broader discourse on democracy within varied political contexts.
