Tinubu approves three road projects in Niger

President Bola Tinubu has approved the reconstruction of three major roads in Niger State, aimed at improving infrastructure.

President Bola Tinubu has taken a significant step towards improving infrastructure in Niger State by approving the reconstruction of three federal roads. These roads—Mokwa–Bida Road, Mokwa–Makera Road, and Bida–Lambata Road—totalling 306.5 kilometres, are expected to undergo reconstruction using reinforced concrete pavement technology to ensure long-lasting durability.

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced these approvals through a statement, highlighting that the projects include not only the reconstruction of these key roads but also the extension of the Bodo–Bonny Road to connect with the East–West Road. The projected works on this road include building the dual carriageway with solar-powered street lighting, which reflects a modern approach to road construction that prioritizes sustainability and utility.

The execution of these projects will be carried out via a competitive bidding process, ensuring transparency and fairness in the allocation of contracts. Senator Umahi expressed gratitude towards President Tinubu for these strategic infrastructure improvements, emphasizing their importance within the broader context of national development and economic growth.
