Leaders of various choirs in Latvia discuss the organizational and logistical challenges they face in preparing for the new season of "Choir Wars."
In a recent discussion featured on the program "Bez Tabu," leaders of choirs taking part in the "Choir Wars" shared their biggest challenges as they prepare for the upcoming season. Asnate Rancāne from the Saulkrasti Pērļu koris highlighted the difficulties in coordinating performances, including matching costumes, makeup, choreography, and securing venues, emphasizing the need for meticulous organizational skills in this competitive setting.
On a lighter note, Andris Ērglis from the Liepājas Zelta koris pointed out the more logistical challenges, humorously remarking that the toughest obstacle is finding transportation from Liepāja to Rīga. Diona from the Rēzeknes Oranžais koris agreed, stating that the lack of reliable bus services from Rēzekne to the capital poses serious challenges for choir members trying to participate in events.
Additionally, Māra Upmane-Holšteine of the Rīgas sudrabbaltais koris expressed concern over the need for a choir psychologist, indicating that the mental well-being of choir members is also a significant issue in the competitive and high-pressure environment of the choir scene. This conversation sheds light on the multifaceted challenges faced by choir leaders beyond just the artistic aspects, highlighting the complex interconnectedness of logistics, morale, and organizational strategy.
