Electricity prices will rise on Friday

On Friday, electricity consumers in Estonia will experience a rise in prices as the average price on the Nord Pool exchange increases by 5.1 percent, reaching €73.81 per megawatt-hour. This marks a hike from Thursday's average of €70.20. The peak pricing period is expected to occur during the morning rush hour, particularly between 08:30 and 08:45, when prices are projected to surge to €114.40 per megawatt-hour for that brief window. In total, prices will remain above the €100 mark for more than three hours, indicating tense energy market conditions during peak demand.

Comparatively, electricity prices vary across the Baltic region on Friday, with Finland enjoying considerably lower rates at an average of €67.45, nearly nine percent lower than Estonia's prices. In contrast, Latvia and Lithuania will see higher rates than Estonia, at approximately €74.85 per megawatt-hour. This disparity in pricing highlights the interconnected nature of energy markets in the Baltic Sea region as pricing fluctuates based on regional supply and demand trends, underscoring the importance of competitive pricing strategies for consumers and regional energy policy.
